He is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Commerce degree from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, where he secured First Merit at the university level during his second year of B.Com.

He began his career with LIC of India in 1993 as a Direct Recruit Officer (Assistant Administrative Officer - CA). Over more than 32 years, he has held a variety of key roles in departments such as Finance, Accounts, Audit, Personnel, Estate, and Investments. His extensive experience has provided him with a comprehensive understanding of regulatory compliance and strategic financial management. Mr. Mundhras leadership has been pivotal in advancing investment strategies, financial accounting, industrial relations, and estate management.

In the last six years, he has played a crucial role in LICs investment operations, acting as Fund Manager for the Equity and Debt portfolios of P&GS Funds, where he managed Assets under Management (AUM) exceeding 11.50 lakh crores. Under his guidance, the fund achieved industry-leading results in FY25. He has also spearheaded significant improvements in equity research and introduced innovative approaches to credit rating reviews in the debt portfolio.
